Location: For the month of April, HBC Members, Edgar Rothschild and Pamela Martin will be leading a hike at Edwin Warner Park on Sunday, April 30 at 9:00 A.M.
Parking: please park at the Edwin Warner Nature Center (7311 Hwy. 100, Nashville 37221). There are restrooms and a water fountain available. Google should direct you there. The group will meet near the front of the building. Please remember to secure all valuables (or leave them at home).
Hike details: Please allow enough time to park, get ready, use the restroom, and find the group. Wear appropriate hiking shoes and layers. This will be a moderate 6-mile hike (with an option to cut off sooner if needed) and may take 2-3 hours. The group will be hiking the Harpeth Woods Trail (approx. 3 miles) and the new Burch Reserve Trail (approx. 3 miles). The Burch Reserve contains one of the last remaining pieces of virgin forest in the state.
Leave No Trace: We want to respect the parks and other visitors. Pack it in, pack it out. NO littering. If you would like to pack a garbage bag to collect any trash seen on the trails, please do! That's a small way we can do our part to help keep our parks clean. Please keep voices to a conversational tone.
Post-hike gathering: Some of the group may decide to get food and drink following the hike at Sportsman’s Grille, 5405 Harding Pike, Nashville 37205.
RSVP: To help us determine how large of a group we will have, please RSVP below. Spouses, family members, friends, and well-behaved dogs (on a leash) are welcome too. We look forward to seeing those who can make it on Sunday, April 30!
