In light of the storms predicted overnight, the starting time for our Memorial Day ride from The Parthenon to National Cemetery has been changed to 9:00. This should give the roads time to dry out after the expected rainfall. It's supposed to be sunny and pleasant by mid-morning!
So please join us in this most appropriate observance!
Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day) - 9:00 A.M.
The Parthenon to National Cemetery!
Centennial Park, 28th Avenue North parking lot on west side of The Parthenon, 2500 West End Avenue, Nashville 37203
It's a Harpeth Club tradition to have a more urban ride on the summer holidays! And, most appropriately, on Memorial Day Bruce Green will lead from The Parthenon up to the National Cemetery in Madison. We'll combine this with some interesting sights around the city on less-traveled roads. We'll go across the Pedestrian Bridge, ride on the Shelby Bottoms Greenway, circle around the old Cornelia Fort Airfield, and pay respects at the National Cemetery. From there we'll climb around Skyline Medical Center and come back across the Bordeaux Bridge to ride along the river on the MetroCenter levee! Then we'll go by the Sounds ballpark and Bicentennial Mall. There are numerous places for rest stops along the way. Amy Crownover will lead the Collegial version of this route.
The route is 37 miles. This is designed to be a fun and pleasant ride. We did this route the last two years with great success! The full cue sheet with many notes about the route is at the link below.
