HBC Sunday Ride!
Westhaven parking lot, 1025 Westhaven Blvd., Franklin 37064 - take Hwy. 96 west from Franklin, turn left on Westhaven Blvd. at the traffic light, veer right onto State Blvd., and then take the very first left into the parking lot.
We will continue riding from Westhaven this Sunday and throughout the off-season. Here is a map to guide you to the parking lot at Westhaven. Westhaven Blvd. is directly across Hwy. 96 from the end of Old Charlotte at the big sign for Gentry Farm. There's a traffic light at that intersection.

On most Sundays, we ride out Boyd Mill and then take the tough climb up Parker Branch. At the end of that road, various groups form for different distances and routes. It is easy to do a 25- or 30-mile route, although most regular riders will add miles along the way. At the start we will establish the approximate distance that various groups intend to ride. Durk usually takes most riders over to Fox's market via Hargrove, Pinewood, and Bending Chestnut for about 40 miles. Other riders will do a longer ride. Here's a suggested 51-mile course. It leaves Westhaven and first goes over to the Old Trace and does Beasley Backwards, which sets riders up for a nice, long, gradual descent. Then it makes its way to Fairview, does Lampley and Younger Creek, and comes down the fun run on Pewitt before taking on Backbone Ridge to make it home.
