Bruce’s Southern Spin

This Saturday, VP Bruce Green will be leading us south from Leipers Fork all the away to Athendale and back, whilst showing us some some good hills on the way. The route is 50 miles and takes in the steady climb up Sulphur Springs, the long run down Knob Creek, the sweeping curves of Dark Mills and the challenging climb up Roberts Bend. From there we head to the Santa Fe rest stop via the fun and fast drop down Tom Fitzgerald.  The route back takes Godwin, Skelly (Caution! Steep!), Fox Branch and Davis Hollow, before rolling in on Leipers Creek Road. It promises to be a fun 50 miles!

The 30 mile Collegial option will be lead by Connie Weisner and Kurt Scott. This figure 8 route stays closer to home, departing from the long route at Theta to run down Snow Creek and connect back to the route at Godwin. At the bottom of Skelly it turns right and follows Leipers Creek all the way in, although Connie and Kurt can advise if you fancy an alternative route back to Hillsboro School
