SATURDAY A.M. GROUP RIDE
Saturday, Aug. 23
8:00 A.M. for all routes
Presidential Promenade!
Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Road, Franklin, 37064
This Saturday, Jim and Amy Keffer will lead us on a fun and challenging westside adventure, with options of 44 and 63 miles. Both routes circle around Bailey and Floyd and up Old 96, still one of our best area roads! Then the 44-miler takes Caney Fork to Fairview for a rest atop at mile 20. After that the fun begins as riders tackle the Abyss on Daugherty-Capley and the climbs on Barnhill! Meanwhile, from Fernvale the Metric route goes out South Harpeth toward Kingston Springs and takes Webb and Brush Creek to arrive at the steep climb at the beginning of CCC Road. Gear down before you make the right turn! There's a rest stop at Fairview at mile 39, and then riders follow the Medium route over to Barnhill! These routes should give everyone quite a workout!
The Collegial route starts off with the climb up Wilkins Branch but then makes the nice run on Old 96 through Fernvale and up Cumbderland to the rest stop in Fariview at mile 14. Then it has some ups and downs on Lampley and Younger Creek before descending Walker Hill and climbing North Lick!
