Sunny Saturday Spin

This Saturday Bob Barlow has a fun anti-clockwise west side route that uses plenty of tree cover. From Hillsboro School we head up Garrison, down Greenbrier, along South Lick Creek and over Tom Rail to reach Hwy 7. After the downhill to Fly we get into the wooded climb up Raleigh-Elam and over to Water Valley. After the stop at Santa Fe (mile 26) we climb Gaskill Branch and enjoy a shady 10 miles stretch along Chestnut Ridge and down Sulphur Springs. The run back in is via Mobley's Cut and Robinson, finishing off on Leipers Creek. The route is 48 miles, but there are options to cut or add miles on the way back in, depending on your preference.

The short / Collegial route diverts from the long route at Foxes, heading south to Mobley's cut, then turning on Robinson. The rest stop is at Davis General (mile 14) then the route climbs Bear Creek and follows Bailey back into Leipers Creek. From there it loops up Old 96 and down Wilkins Branch to get back to the school. Amy Crownover will lead this route at a Collegial 14-15mph pace.
