9am - Bethesda Elementary School, 4907 Bethesda Road, Thompson's Station, TN 37179
We've got an east side treat for you this Saturday. Pete Cacchioli has put together three great routes starting from Bethesda Elementary and working south through quiet country roads towards Duck River. Choose from 57 miles, 48 miles and a Collegial 35 mile route led by xxx.xxxx
All routes ride together for the first 15 miles, and we get the biggest challenge out of the way nice and early with the climb up Comstock Road after just a mile. From there we snake southwards on Glen Road, Harris Cemetery and six miles of Lunns Store Road. When we hit Hwy 99 the short route skirts around Caney Spring and heads back north on Caney Creek and Smiley Rd before retracing it's route for a few miles and returning to Bethesda via Ash Hill. From the split the medium and long routes head down to cross Duck River before heading west in Wiles Lane towards the i65. The long route diverts further south to Bryant Station for a rest stop (almost in Marshall County) before pushing north parallel to the interstate and re-crossing Duck river. The two routes rejoin at Sowell Mill Pike and together they work their way back up north on some very rural roads, before coming in via Ash Hill and reaching Bethesda from the west
There are plenty of rest stop options to keep us hydrated....
Breeze in Mkt on Hwy 99 at mile 15 for all routes
Gas station stops at mile 32 on the medium route, and at mile 29 and mile 40 on the long route
These quiet roads come with lots of twists and turns, particularly on the medium and long routes. Make sure you've downloaded your preferred route - we don't want anyone getting lost down there!
