Saturday, July 20 - 7:30 A.M. - R.J.'s Tour de Store, Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Rd. - One of our classic annual events is R.J.'s Tour de Store. This memorable course originated from R.J.'s idea to connect together and visit most of the country stores that we patronize on our rides. But R.J. has significantly revised the routes from earlier years, making them shorter and easier! There are options of 67, 43, and 25 miles. Because of the very hot weather, the starting time has been moved to 7:30. The routes are concurrent for the first 15 miles, as they go down Old 96 and up Pewitt. Then the Short riders head back in, while the others enjoy the descent on Oscar Green and make the gradual climb up Sulphur Springs. At mile 32 the Medium riders go down from Theta to Fairview Rd. and back through Boston. The Long riders, however, go down Knob Creek to Santa Fe, Water Valley, and Fly. At least there are plenty of stores to help us stay hydrated! Here are the cue sheets:
