Saturday, Oct. 19 - 8:00 A.M. - Scarecrow Century - Mt. Pleasant Middle School, 410 Gray Lane, Mt. Pleasant 38474 - The Columbia Cycling Club again presents the Scarecrow Century, which always draws a large turnout of HBC riders. The course traverses Maury, Giles, and Lawrence counties in southern Middle Tennessee. It features the quaint village of Lynnville and the flat Amish country aroung Ethridge. There are options of 40, 70, and 100 miles. Here's the gracious message from Duane Leach with the Columbia Club:

I am really proud of the event this year; I have combined the 70 and 100-mile routes so that they can ride together for 50 miles. The extra 30-mile loop for the 100-milers is a really good one that is in the flat countryside west of Ethridge. Also, we have been blessed with new paving in several places this year.
