Backwards Burns & Backwards Parkers Creek!
Fairview Elementary School, 2640 Fairview Blvd. (Hwy. 100), Fairview 37062
For this Saturday's ride, Weldon Godfrey has perfected the route for a western adventure! We'll go from Fairview to Burns, but in the opposite direction from the last time. The full route is 50 miles, with a rest stop at the market on Hwy. 96 at mile 24. Here's the cue sheet:

In addition, we continue to offer leadership for a shorter route, a bit slower than the usual HBC ride. This week's route is 36 miles, Backwards Parkers Creek, led by Bob Whitmer.

Here's Bob's description of that ride:
This is not a ride for beginners, and an average speed of 14 to 16 mph is expected. This is an option to the regular club rides that can be quite competitive. On this route, riding together in a group takes precedence over personal achievement. It's fine to jump out ahead but you should be willing to wait at key intersections. We don't want to drop anyone but riders should be able to maintain the 14-to-16 mph average stated above so as to not slow the entire group.. This week's ride has a bit of climbing and we may be at the low end of that range.
These rides have been drawing very good participation this season, also led by Amy Crownover. So give them a try!
