After all this riding over all these years, one would think we couldn't find any new routes from Leipers Fork.  But that doesn't take Durk Peterson into account!  For Saturday Durk has a new route that takes us to places we have been before, but certainly in a very different combination!  After the usual stop in Santa Fe at mile 20, we'll continue south to visit the outskirts of Columbia on Darks Mill and somehow make it back around to Theta Pike and Knob Creek, with its challenging climb at the end.  Then we'll take the fast descent from Theta and come back to Boston-Theta Road.  On the way home, we'll make a detour onto Davis Hollow - the hard way!  The full route is 54 miles.  Here's the map and cue sheet:

Meanwhile, Amy Crownover will again lead the Collegial ride at a 14-16 mph pace.  Our dedicated collegial riders will also make the nice, gradual climb up Sulphur Springs to Theta, but they'll skip the more southerly loop.  Instead, they'll descent from Theta, climb Boston-Theta Road, and take a rest at mile 20 at the Davis General Store at Boston.  Then they'll also come home by Davis Hollow but will take the full length of Bending Chestnut, travel Hargrove, and come down Wilkins Branch.  The route totals 36 miles.  Here's the Collegial map and cue sheet:
