Turkey in the Haywood!
Bob B leads us this Saturday for some less familiar west side roads. For the first time in a very long time we climb up Raleigh Beard and down Lewis Road to get to Santa Fe for a quick loop around Turkey and Snow Creeks before the rest stop. After a short section of repaved Hwy 7 we tackle Knob Creek, Haywood Hollow and Gravel Hill Road to reach Theta, then it's back in via Fairview, Robinson and Leipers Creek. All in for 51 miles.
The medium 44 mile route take a very different way to Santa Fe, avoiding Raleigh Beard but offering the Doug Thompson and Martin Ervin climbs instead.
For those looking for a shorter distance at a more relaxed pace there is a 25 mile collegial option via Bear Creek and Bending Chestnut
