The rain is gone, so today's ride is ON. The roads will have time to dry by 9:00. Because of the strong north wind Durk will have a 30-to-40-mile alternative route that does not go 20 miles south. The posted route will also be available. When it is cold, windy, and damp, Durk likes to get out, but not for 48 miles with 20 miles of a north headwind - hence the alternative route.
For those who don't want to brave the elements, an HBC Zwift Ride is also scheduled for 10:00 this morning.
Saturday, Mar. 9 - 9:00 A.M.
Lick-Lawrence-Leipers Loop - plus alternative route!
Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Road, Franklin 37064
Durk will explain the alternative route at the start. Saturday's posted 3L ride will cover the fun run down South Lick, pass by the dairy farm on Gordon Lawrence, and return from Skelley on Leipers Creek. The full route is 48 miles, with a rest stop at the Santa Fe store. Of course, you can go a little farther and do all of Chestnut Ridge! There's a Short version that comes directly home from Fly on Leipers Creek, for 36 total miles. Here are the maps and cue sheets:
