HBC Sunday Ride!

  • Westhaven parking lot 1025 Westhaven Boulevard Franklin, TN, 37064 United States (map)

We had a huge turnout on Saturday at Trinity Park!  Russ Welty led the main route, the Trinity Tromp, in his inimitable fashion.  Several groups also did the Eastside Showcase, covering even more scenic roads in that area.  Most of the climbing came early, and the wind didn't arise until near the end.  Special thanks to Russ and to Amy Crownover for leading the collegial short course, which still had some hills!

Sunday is looking very similar, perhaps a tad cooler but still a nice day.  Treasurer Dan Jensen has proposed a longer route in addition to the regular route over to Fox's - see below if you are game!

Sunday, Apr. 23 - 9:00 A.M.

Westhaven parking lot, 1025 Westhaven Blvd., Franklin 37064 - take Hwy. 96 west from Franklin, turn left on Westhaven Blvd. at the traffic light, veer right onto State Blvd., and then take the very first left

We will continue riding from Westhaven on Sundays during the Prime Season.  Here is a map to guide you to the parking lot at Westhaven.  Westhaven Blvd. is directly across Hwy. 96 from the end of Old Charlotte at the big sign for Gentry Farm.  There's a new traffic light there.

On most Sundays, we ride out Boyd Mill and then take the tough climb up Parker Branch. At the end of that road, various groups form for different distances and routes. It is easy to do a 25- or 30-mile route, although most regular riders will add miles along the way. Dan has suggested the 48-miler below for those who aren't too tired from Saturday's adventure.  It takes Caney Fork to Fairview, does the fun run down Cumberland, goes over for the nice Hester Beasley climb, and finishes with the Old Trace and Mack Hatcher.

So come and join us!   We're having lots of new riders this season - always welcome!
