HBC Sunday Hike!
Percy Warner Park, Deep Well Trailhead (off Hwy 100)
We know many of us enjoy riding year-round and there are some who also like to go hiking during the cooler months. Our Social Chair Brenda Mikec has formed a Hiking Committee that will organize and coordinate monthly (or more frequent) hikes during the cooler months and even throughout the year!
Location: For the month of January, HBC Member Dan Fisher will be leading a hike at Percy Warner Park (Deep Well Trailhead entrance) in Nashville on this Sunday, at 1:00 P.M. Percy Warner is a beautiful park with quiet, scenic, and challenging trails located right in the heart of Nashville.
Details: Please allow enough time to park, get ready, use the restroom, and find the group. Please also wear appropriate hiking shoes and layers. This will be a moderate 5-to-5.5-mile hike and will take 2.5-to-3 hours.
Parking: Please park in the Deep Well Trailhead parking lot and secure all valuables (or leave them at home). The group will meet at the Trailhead. There is a port-a-potty near the trailhead.
Leave No Trace: Let's respect the parks and other visitors. Pack it in, pack it out. NO littering. If you would like to pack a garbage bag to collect any trash seen on the trails, please do! That's a small way we can do our part to help keep our parks clean. Please keep voices to a conversational tone.
*Some of the group may decide to get food and drink following the hike if there is enough interest.
RSVP: To help us determine how large of a group we will have, please RSVP below. Spouses, family members, friends, and well-behaved dogs (on a leash) are welcome too. We look forward to seeing those who can make it on Sunday, Jan. 15!
