Sunday looks good! Here's a 50-mile route Dan has developed for those interested in a moderate 16-17 mph ride. And there will be the usual shorter and easier options!
Burwood-Doc Robertson-Fairview - 50 miles - GPS
Blazer to Southhall to Coleman – Hunter – Thompson’s Station – Cayce Springs to Popes Chapel with an on route stop at Burwood at mile 22. Then Doc Robertson and back over via Fairview and return on Leiper’s Creek.
With a forecast South wind at 10-13 by noon, it should make for a nice return.
Sunday, June 12 - 8:00 A.M.
HBC Sunday Ride
Westhaven parking lot, 1025 Westhaven Blvd., Franklin - take Hwy. 96 west from Franklin, turn left on Westhaven Blvd., veer right onto State Blvd., and then take the very first left.
On Prime Season Sundays we will continue our rides from Westhaven. Here is a map to guide you to the parking lot at Westhaven. Westhaven Blvd. is directly across Hwy. 96 from the end of Old Charlotte at the big sign for Gentry Farm.
Westhaven Map.
We've been taking the Old Pancake route over to Leipers Fork because the dogs on Hargrove Road make the Parker Branch climb seem unnecessary! At the start we will announce various route options. It is easy to do a 25- or 30- mile route, although most regular riders will add miles along the way. Many riders will do a 50- or 60-mile ride, improvising the route as they go along. We are trying to be a bit more organized for the longer routes and often will send a suggested route before Sunday. And sometimes we do something entirely different!
So come out and enjoy some great riding before it gets too hot!
