Fall Frolic & Picnic!
Edwin Warner Park, Shelter #3, Off Vaughn Rd, south of Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville
The HBC has always had a fall picnic (except last year!) and it looks like our rescheduling from a few weeks ago has produced a perfect day for it! The rides will begin at staggered times so we can picnic together. The Long route is 58 miles and will start at 8:00. The Short route is 35 miles and will start at 9:00. Our Treasurer Dan Jensen will sweep the Long route, and our Secretary Debbie Wason will sweep the Short route. Both routes go out the Old Trace to Barrel Springs and Waddell Hollow and return by Hester Beasley and Temple. In between, the Short riders will tackle the Stillhouse climb, while the Long riders go by Blazer to Southall, Davis Hollow, Green Chapel, and the fun descent on Pewitt. Long riders may refuel at the Shell Station at mile 21 or Fox's at mile 28. Short riders may stop at the Pasquo Shell at mile 27. Here are the cue sheets:
Fall Frolic - Long - 58 miles - GPS - begins at 8:00
Fall Frolic - Short - 35 miles - GPS - Begins at 9:00
After the ride, we can all enjoy lunch at Shelter #3. The food will be supplied at club expense (your membership dues at work!) by When Pigue's Fly Food Truck! Here's the menu:
