New Year's Day Ride & Potluck!

Kickstart the NEW YEAR with a cruise through some of Nashville’s lovely neighborhoods, starting and ending in Brentwood (River Oaks neighborhood). There are two climbs that will get you out of the saddle to bring up that heart rate and keep you toasty warm.  The hill in Fredia's neighborhood will make Pigg Schoolhouse look flat!
 
The Long (40-mile) ride will start at 9:00 A.M., and the 27-mile and 23-mile rides will start at 10:00 A.M., giving New Year's revelers a chance to get up and enjoy their first cup of joe before embracing a new year of cycling. Thus, everyone should finish at about the same time, so we can all be together for the potluck lunch!  Here are the cue sheets:

Long route - 40 miles - GPS - starts at 9:00

Medium route - 27 miles - GPS - starts at 10:00

Short route - 23 miles - GPS - starts at 10:00
 
Edley’s BBQ (pork & chicken) will be the main course, and we ask that attendees bring a potluck dish to share. A pot of black eyed peas will make an appearance to satisfy the traditional New Year's rite guaranteed to bring good fortune throughout the year.
 
*Note: In the event of inclement weather, the potluck lunch will still proceed. HBC Members, significant others, and guests are encouraged to join us for lunch as well (around 12 noon) to enjoy the fellowship and gustatory delights. The weather is looking good for a ride to start the New Year!
