Saturday. Sept. 15 – 7:30 A.M.Swan Creek Adventure! – Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Rd. – This Saturday offers our most adventurous ride of the year, all the way through Hickman County down to Gordonsburg and the Hampshire area.  Note the 7:30 starting time.  Piro Mittig is celebrating his birthday by leading us on one of his favorite routes.  There are options of 29 and 52 miles for those who prefer a regular ride; these routes concentrate on the territory around Fly.  But some riders will take on the challenge of one of the very scenic long routes of 105 and 116 miles!  The country around Swan Creek makes for a great ride, and it gets us down to the fun run on Catheys Creek!  While there are some climbs, overall it’s a moderate route with lots of flat stretches.

Piro reminds us that stores are far between on the longer routes, so bring plenty of food and water.  Good tires are a must for the three churt sections on these routes.  Water is available at churches at mile 37, mile 54, and mile 69.5 (mile 80 x long), and also at Duck River Market at mile 80 (mile 91 x long) and the Fly Store at mile 92.5 (103.5 x long).

You’ll remember this ride!  Here are the cue sheets.  While we will try to ride in collegial groups, please print the cue sheet or put it in your computer in case you get separated on these unfamiliar roads:

Longest route – Swan Creek Adventure – 116 miles

Century route – Swan Creek Adventure – 105 miles

Medium route – Duck River Diversion – 52 miles

Short route – Fly Foray – 29 miles
