Today’s HBC Pancake Ride, previously scheduled for 9:00 from Hunters Bend, is CANCELLED.  All the forecasts predict occasional rain all morning, increasing as the day goes on.  Once again, it’s just too sketchy to get all of us out on the road.

RIDE CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN – 9:00 A.M. – Hunters Bend Elementary School, 2121 Fieldstone Pkwy., Franklin – Pancake Ride – The Club’s most classic event is the regular Sunday Pancake Ride from Fieldstone Farms over to Leipers Fork.  During the Prime Season, we designate a ride leader each week who will sweep the route and make sure everyone has safely returned at the end.  Riders take the rolling course to the end of Boyd Mill Pike and then make the climb up Parker Branch before descending down to Puckett’s for a rest stop.  The direct route back makes a total of 28 miles, but many riders will add extra miles from Puckett’s on the scenic roads south and west of Leipers Fork; the full route for these long riders is usually about 50 miles.

This is not called the Pancake Ride because it is flat or easy, but because you can enjoy some tasty treats at Puckett’s!  While new riders are encouraged to participate, the route is moderately hilly and is inappropriate for rank beginners.
