Ride starts from LP Field. Meet in front of the pro shop on the east side of the stadium. Fun, easy pace around East Nashville/Shelby Park. (Non-members of HBC will be asked to sign a waiver.)
Every cyclist has their own reason for riding that drives them to the finish line. What is your reason for participating in the Tour de Cure?
Maybe you have a family member or other loved one with diabetes, or maybe you have diabetes yourself. Some participants join because they love the thrill of riding with so many other cyclists on a great route. Others join because it's a good excuse to dust off the bike and ride with the family.
Now you can let us know YOUR reasons for riding in the Tour de Cure. Visit our Rider Stories area to share your personal story or to read about how another cyclist got involved.
If you are in search of the latest diabetes facts and statistics, read our Diabetes Facts. These facts can help you stay informed, or you can use them to educate and appeal to your donors. The incidence of diabetes is growing rapidly in the U.S.—we have to keep riding to get ahead of this deadly disease.
No matter why you signed up, we're glad you're along for the ride.

Come experience one of the southeast's most scenic and challenging centuries. The rigorous 100-mile option will take you through 3 states (Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia) and over 3 mountains (Suck Creek, Sand and Lookout). Climb and descend Lookout Mountain over the same course as the 2007 Tour de Georgia. The moderate 62-mile option spans 2 states and 1 mountain. The 25-mile option takes riders across the hilly terrain of 1 state.
Hailed by cyclists asthe most unique century they've ever ridden.
2008 looks be an exciting year for our event. In 2003, the Mayor Bob Corker picked two local events supported entirely by local organizations to showcase Chattanooga. One was the 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge. The City of Chattanooga has stepped forward to help make this a truly memorable event. The 3-State will be again be staged at Finley Stadium across the street from the First Tennessee Pavilion. The facility is wonderful with even more amenities than the Pavilion. The Chattanooga Market will be at the Pavilion on Sunday after the 3-State and all the new waterfront enhancements will be available for the family and non-ride time activities. This is truly the year to bring your family and stay the weekend.
(Note: Registration for the 2008 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge will close when the limit of 2500 riders is reached or on Apr 21, 2008, whichever is reached first. No refunds after April 13.)
The HBC offers rides for all levels of bicycle enthusiasts. The club rides are rated according to pace and terrain.

Guests are always welcome on Club rides. If you participate in a few rides and find them enjoyable, then you are encouraged to join the club. All guests must sign a Liability Waiver at the start of each ride. The following weekly rides occur during our ride season, which is April through October.
Saturday Road Rides: Saturday rides are typically suitable for Level 2 & 3 riders who are comfortable riding on moderate to hilly terrain. Routes and mileage are determined each week by the Ride Leader. A properly equipped road bike is recommended for most Saturday rides, as the pace is usually not suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids. Occasionally Level 1 rides are also offered on Saturdays. Please consult the Ride Schedule for each week's ride information.
Description: There will be two options, a 53 mile ride and a 42 mile ride. Since this is the weekend for the Iroquois Steeplechase and the Big Hill Challenge, this is the “Horses and Hills” ride. Come view some of the horse farms in Williamson and Rutherford Counties and do some hills while you are at it. I will be sweeping the long route, if there is a volunteer to sweep the short route, I would welcome it! Cue sheets and road hickeys will be provided for your riding pleasure. We will be visiting the following townships/villages in our routes: Nolensville, LaVergne, Rock Springs, Rocky Fork, Almaville, Triune, Eagleville, Kirkland and Arrington.
Terrain: T-2
Ride Level: L-2 & 3.
Learn the all-important basics of bicycles and bicycling. We will spend some time discussing theory in the parking lot, followed by a slow, easy ride incorporating and practicing the principles and skills discussed. You must be a HBC member to participate, and pre-registration is required.

Bike-to-Work Day
Be healthy, be green, and save money! Downtown workers from across Nashville are invited to try commuting in to town on two wheels for Bike-to-Work Day on Friday, May 9. If you don't work downtown, you are still more than welcome to join. Walk/Bike Nashville will have ride leaders departing various locations between 6:30 and 7:15 am. and arriving at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center around 7:30 am. Leaders will share their favorite routes into town while avoiding the gridlock of the busier streets whenever possible. Refreshments will be served. Visit www.walkbikenashville.org for more details. No registration required, but helmets are mandatory.
The opening is at hand for the Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge, which joins major pieces of Nashville greenways.
Mayor Karl Dean and other officials will attend the ceremony at 10 a.m. May 3 on the Two Rivers Park side of the river.

Anyone wanting to take part should park and meet at nearby Wave Country, 2320 Two Rivers Parkway, to walk, bike or skate across the bridge, according to a Metro Parks announcement.
Shelby Bottoms and Shelby Park, with ballparks, wetlands and nature center, lie on one side of the 700-foot-long bridge.
A short tunnel and walkway are on the other, crossing under Briley Parkway to Two Rivers Park with its skate park, golf course and Wave Country water park.
