We offer 4 great routes this year, including a 24-mile, a 42-mile, a 62 mile "metric" century, and a full 100 mile century option. Our course is located within the scenic Harpeth River Watershed. This is one of the most beautiful areas in Middle Tennessee! The longer routes will traverse the legendary "Backbone Ridge", which was the path of the original Natchez Trace. The century route travels into Williamson, Maury and Davidson counties through the beautiful and scenic countryside, arriving atop Stillhouse Hollow Road at mile 80. A rest stop at the top of the hill will help you recover for the remaining 20 miles. Please be aware that there is a cut-off time for the century route. All riders attempting the century must be past the route split at mile 42 by 11:00am. Riders passing the split after 11:00 will be directed to the metric route. This allows 3.5 hours to arrive at the split. The metric riders will climb up to Theta with the century riders. The two routes will not part ways until mile 42 allowing you to choose your ride option at that point. Both routes are challenging and scenic. The popular 42-mile route returns this year to accomodate those riders looking for a little more than the 22, but a little less than the metric. You'll still have hills to climb, SAG support and rest stops to make your ride enjoyable. The 22-mile route will have some easy hills to challenge you and two rest stops along the way. This is the ideal "ride" for new riders wanting to try their first big "Area Ride". We will be with you to support you and encourage you! SAG (Service And Gear) vehicles will patrol all routes until 4:30 pm. The hills are plentiful with challenging ascents and rewarding descents. The rest stops are evenly spaced and famous for being well stocked with plenty of home-baked goodies and many other rider friendly foods. As always, our friendly staff of volunteers will be at hand to help make your cycling experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. Please remember, this is a "tour" and not a "race". We want you to have a safe and fun day! |
