·Baked Goods Needed…
It is time again to put on your aprons and start baking. For those of you who are new to the club, HBC is known for having the best rest stops partly based on our homemade goodies.
·
We had lots of accolades last year from riders about our homemade goodies. So good, we ran out which is a first in the history of the Harpeth River Ride. Let's repeat that success this year and ramp it up a bit. I am looking for volunteers to bake goodies for breakfast before the ride as well as cookies, brownies, etc. for the rest stops. This means I will need lots and lots of volunteers to feed 700+ riders. Alice Forrester and I will be working together to make sure we have enough of everything.· If you want to sign up for breakfast please respond to Alice at forresteralice@hotmail.com.· If you want to sign up for the rest stops please respond to me at waltonhalley@yahoo.com. If you have any questions please contact me. Thanks! Halley Walton

·I am serving as the registration chair again this year for the Harpeth River Ride. I'll get right to the point, I need volunteers for registration. Registration involves signing people up for the ride, making sure they pay, and making sure they get their t-shirt and schwag. We will have a pre-ride packet pick up on the Friday before the ride at a super secret location. Last year this ran from around noon to around 7pm, it will depend on the super secret location (that's code for, I'm not sure where it is going to be yet). Its a great chance to meet and talk with the riders. The day of the ride, we need volunteers to be at the ride start very early to sign up all the folks that are registering that day and to give out ride packets to the folks that couldn't make it on Friday.
·
Registration is a great place to volunteer. We always have great, fun people to work with. If you want to ride in the ride, you can. We finish up most of the work before the ride starts.
·
If you would like to volunteer, please send me an email with your name and phone number and what days you would like to volunteer on. You can volunteer for both days or just one.·
·
If you have questions feel free to email or call me.
·
Thank you,

·Hello Everyone,
·
The 2009 River Ride is arriving and again I will be coordinating the Rest Stops for our club. I have many returning faces and some newcomers joining the fun this year.
·
Each year our teams develop a "Theme" for their rest stop. This brings much fun to a long day. Each team has a lead captain for my contact and team members to work together. This will involve the need of several volunteers to make this happen.
·
I encourage our new members of the club to get involved. It's a great way of meeting people. This is the clubs biggest fundraiser and it’s our way of giving back to the cycling community a BIG THANK YOU for putting on area rides for our pleasure.
·
Please remember that the Rest Stop Volunteers start that morning as early as 6am. Setup is the most crucial time. If you can't stay a good portion of the day....please let us know. That will help us coordinate our volunteers.
·
As we move on.....there may be needs for each rest stop which I may ask people for a loan. This may include Canopy Tents. These do help shade our volunteers while they work in the hot sun.
·
Finally.....I will be in contact with each of you as we start to recruit our volunteers. I look forward to working with all of you this year. If you feel you can spare some time for a great event...please send your name to Karla McVey at k.mcvey@comcast.net . She is coordinating volunteers and please specify Rest Stops so I may place you on a team.
·
Thanks for everyone’s help and look forward to working with all of you.
·
