GF Recommends Climbing Every Side of Theta

This ride is not for the faint of heart. If you don't want to work hard, plan another route. A few more notes:

  • The total route would be 70 miles roundtrip from the school. At any point during the ride when you are on the top of Theta (TOT), you can skip to the bottom of the cue sheet and follow the "HOME" route of the directions. This will always have you just 10 easy miles from the start, any time you are on "TOT".
  • The market on TOT is closed on Sundays. You will need to plan your food and water accordingly. If you are riding with friends, it's a great idea to drop a cooler in the bushes adjacent to the market. You can use that shaded porch as a regrouping place.
  • These roads are all paved, but some are chip and seal. You will enjoy this most with a sturdy, dependable workhorse kind of wheel (leave the Zips at home). There aren't any problem dogs on these roads. I wouldn't ride parts of this by myself as it can get a little off the beaten path, but I am overly cautious...

The Excel file with the cue sheet is provided as a downloadable Excel file. In case you don't have Excel, ask a friend for help. (Please do not call the shop about this.) Also, the route is straight off a Delore map so be careful with the road name changing but there not being an official turn (Skelley).
