Music City Double PDF Print E-mail
The 3rd Annual Music City Double Century is an Americas Cup event on the 2008 Ultracycling Cup Calendar. Ultra racers compete in a series of double centuries, 12 and 24 hour races, 500-mile races and multi-day ultra races to determine the best ultra riders of the season. A rider earns performance points based on the Difficulty Points (DP) of an event times the rider's average speed. The DPs are based on the length of and amount of climbing in an event.

For 2008, we've added a Century option for those riders not up to the challenge of a Double Century this early in the season. Ride with the Ultra Cyclists to the 50 mile checkpoint, then turn south to Dickson. Just north of US-70, the route turns east and passes thru White Bluff and Kingston Springs on its way back to the Model Airplane Field.

Ride Date:
The Music City Double Century will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Ride Start / Finish Times:
The ride will depart promptly at 6:00 AM CST. There is no time limit for this ride, however all Ultracycling Cup events are time events.

Most riders will finish this ride before sundown. If you plan on taking more than 12 hours to finish the ride, you should plan on bringing your night riding gear as defined in our Ultra Cycling Series rules.

Ride Description:
The Music City Double Century is a loop route of 202 miles that departs from the Model Airplane Field in southwest Nashville.
