TUESDAY P.M GROUP RIDE
Tuesday, Apr. 23 - 6:00 P.M.
Cool Springs Ride!

ShareCare parking lot, 701 Cool Springs Blvd. (southeast corner of Cool Springs Blvd. East & Carothers Pkwy.), Franklin 37067

Our outstanding team of evening ride leaders (Fredia, Pete, and Scott) has devoted tremendous thought and efforts to the course of our Tuesday night HBC ride.  For this week's ride we're going back to the longstanding routes staging from ShareCare.  Moving the starting location last week allieviated the traffic on Carothers at 6:00 , but it turns out that that is safer than being on that stretch of Carothers at nightfall.  So until we have longer daylight or figure out another suitable route, this is the plan.

These traditional routes also give us the option of cutting out the rough parts of Wilson Pike and coming back by Trinity and North Chapel if riders want to do that.  Our leadership team will revisit starting from the shopping center on Longpoint Way when it's daylight until after 8:00.

The Harpeth Club has sponsored this classic ride for the last 15 years!  While many racers strive for fast times on this fairly hilly course, more moderate riders also enjoy the ride and will accompany our ride leaders.  However, this ride is NOT for novices, due to both difficulty and traffic!  Fredia Barry and Pete Cacchioli will lead the ride but there is no sweep, so riders are responsible for knowing the routes, as detailed below.  As always, our leaders will make sure everyone who left the parking lot with our group has returned before they depart after the ride (and go looking for them if necessary).

This Tuesday's weather looks very nice.  But when the ride has to be cancelled because of weather, Fredia will send a message by the General List. So be sure you have subscribed to that list. To do so, go to the HBC website, click on "About," then click on the right side on "Club Email and Mailing Lists," and follow the very simple instructions.

The standard route of 26 miles goes out Carothers to Gosey Hill Road and Crowder Road, and then takes Meeks and McDaniel to Cox Road, coming in on Wilson Pike. A shorter route of 21 miles is available, taking Peytonsville-Trinity Road after Crowder. Some riders go 30 miles when the summer days are long enough. The cue sheets are below:
